Thank you to Dr. Druker and all those whose efforts have resulted in this miracle called Gleevec. It has given hope to my husband, who was recently diagnosed with CML. I feel that he has a chance at life that he may not have otherwise had. Thank you does not express our gtatitude.

My wife, Nancy, was dxed 11-99 and the intf. nearly did her in. We couldn't get in the trials. Then last May your miracle became available. She now has her life back. Thank you from all of us, with all our hearts and God Bless.

Thanks to all of you for all the support and information that I have been able to get from the web site. Thank you Dr. Druker, as you have given my husband a quality of life that is worth living. Dx in Sept. 2000 and on interferon until May 2001, when the Interferon could no longer be tolerated. Once Louie was on Gleevic there was a complete transformation to a healthy happy living person. Thanks for giving us more time together and hopefully to grow old together.

"Thank you" is totally insufficient to express my appreciation to Dr. Druker and other medical scientists who have given me more of life.

I am a GIST patient at UW Madison. My days were numbered untill STI 571 was given to me in April 2001. Large tumors in the liver and lungs have shrunk dramatically in size, disappeared or remained the same. However I am not out of the woods yet as there is a small tumor on my kidney which has grown only by milimeters but it will have to be checked out. However I am still thankful to Dr. Drucker because he has bought me time to keep trying and with prayers this other little bump will be just that a little bump in the road with hopefully more continued success. Keep going and keep trying. You are truly on to something. Thank you, Pat Ford and family

Dear Dr Druker - I was diagnosed with CML in July 2000 after 2 years of slowly deteriorating health and well being. I was put on Interferon for 10 months and by May 2001, it was doubtful whether I'd survive till the end of the year. I commenced Glivec in June 2001 and almost immediately began to feel and look better. Now 5 months down the track I'm well into cytogenetic remission and feeling terrific. My heartfelt thanks and gratitude for a magnificent innovation in drug therapy which has transformed my life and returned me to health.

Thank you, Dr Druker, from another grateful person who has been lucky enough to personally experience the help and hope that Gleevec gives us. I have CML, and it is responding very well to treatment with Gleevec. I am also very pleased to see that Gleevec appears to work against GISTs, and may also be helping some persons with certain brain tumors.
Truly, your fine work has allowed thousands of people to have new and practical hope for their futures. What a wonderful gift you have given us!

Congratulations and a huge thanks to an incredible man and his team. I have been taking Gleevec for 10 months now and am feeling fantastic. (Almost forgotten how rotten I felt on Interferon and actually looking forward to next biopsy). After 6 months FISH dropped from 86% to 1% - WOW.

As a CML patient on interferon from Dec,2000 until my switch to gleevec in April,2000(extreme intolerance to inf.), I join the thousands of people who thank Dr. Druker for his pioneering work, Novartis for its commitment to this medicine's development, and Jerry Mayfield for his wonderfully informative and comforting "Unofficial STI-571 Website". At the risk of repeating what so many of my fellow CML patients have already said, I too thank Dr. Druker for helping me to return to a normal life.

Was on Interferon for 8 years. In March of 2001 my bloodcount began to rise. The doctor said there is new drug out there that hasn't been approved yet. We will start it as soon as it is approved. Started May 15. Blood count back to normal within 1 month. I will live to draw every penny out of my social security account plus interest. My deepest graditude to all of you who worked to give us this miracle. Thank you.

My husband, Bob, gave blood on Aug. 13th and found out he had CML. He is 54 and had a heart attack 71/2 years ago. He started on 4-100mg. tabs/day but had high fevers. He is now successfully taking 2/day. He feels great and has his energy back. His white count is 11,000. It was 129,000 when we found out. Thanks to you he can continue to work and live a normal life. Thank you for making my husband feel better and for giving us so much hope!
