My hematologist just recently found in my blood work that my cells were enlarged. She then decided to run more blood work to check my B12 and Folic Acid. The folic acid was normal but my B12 was on the very low end. Apparently I am not absorbing B12 naturally through my stomach and intestines and now I have to do B12 replacment shots. She started me on 1 shot a day for 5 days...then I go to 1 shot a week for a month and from there on out 1 shot a month for the rest of my life.
I know this isn't really big deal. The shots don't even hurt and I don't mind doing them. I was just wondering if anyone else on Sprycel has had this same thing happen to them. I have been extremely out of energy lately and I get wore down very quickly. The hot weather may not be helping that either but I am just curious if this could possibly be a side effect of Sprycel.
Feel free to share any comments or info! Thanks, Dani
P.S. I've been PCR negative and in a full remission for a year 1/2 now and for the most part feeling very well minus the few side effects of the meds! Hope everyone is doing well. |
